Lagoon 46 Iconic
The forward-mast Lagoon that redefined the mid-forties: self-tacking jib, enormous flybridge, and a cockpit that genuinely lives outdoors.

The forward mast, and why it matters
The 46 put the mast well aft of the bow and sized the self-tacking jib up to 50.5 m² against an 87 m² main. In practice that means you tack by turning the wheel. No winch, no crew on the sheet, no discussion. For a couple, it is the difference between sailing the boat and motoring because sailing is a project.
A helm that sees everything
The flybridge wheel sits on centerline with stairs on both sides, so you can see both hulls, both quarters and the person on the bow. Reviewers keep singling this out for shorthanded crews, and they are right to.
Worth knowing before you fall for it. The Iconic edition is a trim and styling package on the existing 46 hull — interior fabrics, a redesigned bow lounge with a retractable ladder, an optional furling boom. Press coverage of the 46 predates the Iconic name and describes the same hull and rig.

What the judges and the testers said
Awards are listed as won or nominated, never blurred together. Launch previews written from renderings are marked as previews, because they are not sea trials.
“Space-optimised, comfortable, slightly better sailing than previous generations.”
